The theme of 2020 continues. Our breath is taken away, again--with COVID-19 and now the fires.   We have been speaking for weeks, maybe months now, about the astrology theme of Mars in Aries, fanning the flames.  We have witnessed the fiery warrior spirit during the protests, movements, and anger in the people.  But while we were in our own front yards arguing over political signs, we slowly turned around and realized that our "home is on fire". Mother nature reminds us that we are at our Darwinian moment and you--along with the collective of humanity--are your own savior. 

Mars the planet, along with his asteroid sister Eris have been "hanging out"in Aries all summer.  Mars is the fiery warrior, ready to initiate, pounce, fight for what he loves.  He can spark a fight in a heartbeat.  He may even carry weapons.  His sister, Eris is the Goddess of Discord and Pandemonium.  Standing in the street with her protesting sign, not backing down to anyone.  Pandemonium has close roots to the word  "pandemic".  She is also fiery and along with her warring brother, both travel together-which is unusual-- in Aries, the air sign, fanning the flames.  Literally with our wild land fires and figuratively in the BLM movement for equality. Mars just turned retrograde on September 9th, but not as a reprieve.  He is backtracking through Aries.  He is not finished in Aries until January 2021.  Plenty of time to heat up our election, results, and inauguration.

This epic year 2020 has been echoed in the skies as the astrology is mirroring our human drama, our evolution.  January 2020 brought us the date astrologers and numerologists had "red flagged" for our attention.  The 1/11/2020 date.  I attended an astrology workshop in Breitenbush Hot Springs, Oregon, the summer before. As the astrologer spoke of something very, very BIG coming, I almost felt like I wanted to leave the room.  I wasn't sure that I wanted something big coming our way, especially when another person asked if it would be as big as 9/11 and the answer was, "bigger".  I would have thought that our astrologer teacher was over-dramatizing or perhaps seeking extra attention for his career or personal satisfaction, but Rick Levine is a valued and reputable astrologer within the community of like-minded people.  I heard the same information again and again from other professionals who study astrology and I could see and read the chart for myself. The planet alignment was very unusual. Foreboding.

As it would turn out, I had an opportunity to book that very date as an Air B&B fun weekend with a friend from Seattle.  It was the only time open to us, so I went with it, even though I remembered the warning that something was 'on it's way'.  I wasn't frightened, just aware.  When anything happens in the universe, or on our planet, it is always for the highest and greatest good of all.  It expands, encourages, demands us to step up and evolve. Get into the game, move ourselves, inspire others, be present, cry, laugh, work hard and GROW.  Evolving spiritually is the end game.  

As life does, it took a turn.  I developed a very bad case of pneumonia just two weeks before my anticipated girl's weekend of fun and adventure.  I was still recovering on January 11th, in my own bed, in my own home.  I wouldn't realize until weeks later, that during this time  of 1/11/2020 the Corona virus known as COVID-19, was crossing from the East into the West and ready to land on the North American continent from Asia.  The prophecy of the "dragon from the east" that many had anticipated from ancient prophecy, surmising that it was the Chinese economy devouring our own, like a dragon devouring it's prey.  While some may argue that there is an element of truth to this, our dragon devouring our economy is not the Chinese people or Chinese government, it is COVID-19, beginning in 2019 in Asia and crossing the Pacific Ocean to meet with western culture in 2020.  What we do with it, is our choice and learning.

The ancient Tibetans believed that you do not fight with your dragon.  It will devour you if you disrespect it and anger it.  You must not act out of ignorance, but instead admit you are powerless against it. (Get out of denial).  Then you make peace with it, (acceptance) even feed it, and ask it to leave with grace, integrity (Do the work). Once you befriend your dragon you can learn more about it and deal with it with intelligence and with spirit.

One of my yoga students first brought to my attention that my early pneumonia was prophetic, it was the warning shot for others. It was my body's way of preparing me, setting me up to feel my way into this new world of "I can't breath."  The word's of my Urgent Care doctor, "you can't breath, can you?"  No I can't.  No, we can't. Not until we go backwards to fix the present, can we ask for the future we wish to create.

Why do we go backwards? 

On July 4th, 2020 we experienced a lunar eclipse, following a solar eclipse on the summer solstice in June.  Two very auspicious dates.  The summer solstice intensified with an eclipse is a revolution, an awakening, a teaching.  But what is the lesson?  The eclipse on July 4th is very obviously intended for the United States of America.  This date is the birthday of our country, if we were to print out an astrological chart.  The planets and asteroids aligned themselves to point at our ancestors.  This is a group I regularly bring into our practice as our ancestors decisions and choices have brought us to the hear and now.  WE are a result of their choices, actions, and lives.  They have brought us to this moment and have faith in us to continue the reckoning of healing and ascension.  Our wins are their wins and visa versa.  

As much as I revere the ancestors in my teachings and personal life, the reality is that they were just humans walking through a world of duality.  They were not perfect.  Light and dark, just as the moon teaches us every month,  It is not one or the other, it is both in a continual dance.  Our ancestors who brought us here, with their love, sweat, and tears also co-created and participated in the energies of human slavery, for some 400 years on our continent.  Part of this time was simultaneous genocide of the Native Americans on the continents of North and South America.  While our ancestors were doing the best they could, with what they had, the burden to pay this debt, to seek atonement, forgiveness, reckoning is on our shoulders.  Or in our respiratory system, deep within our chest, in the heart Chakra of love.  This healing will call for massive, focused energy and action, to combat the darkness of human slavery and the generational devastation and prolonged suffering and injustices still being witnessed to this day.  Breonna Taylor.  George Floyd.  Botham Jean.  Jim Crow laws, effectively gutting the hard earned freedoms and liberties brought about by the Civil Rights Amendment of 1964.  Keep in mind that this is exactly 100 years after the Civil War won the abolition of slavery.  The planets align, again.

Now, we are poised, to level up to where our constitution declares us to be -- all men created equal. We are picking up the baton that was handed to us by our ancestors.  Are we working toward the forgiveness of their sins? Yes. And the forgiveness of our own transgressions of ignorance (ignoring), privilege, deference, apathy.  As we heal the present time, the healing energies go into the past and that healing assists our ancestors. They benefit from our work, the soul family works together with the illusion of separation on the time space continuum. The forgiving and healing of our ancestors, with our work in this present time, helps to propels us into a better space into the future.  A place of co-creating a world that our ancestors would enjoy, that we can be in joy, and our children and descendants will find joy!  All of time is in a cycle, a circle.  Whatever you throw in or take out, effects the whole.

The work of our lifetime is to heal this wound of racism and injustice.  

Once this wound is healed, this atonement to our black, brown, and indigenous brothers and sisters, we will be practiced and ready us for the next really big healing, that will be staged in it's wake.  This is COVID-19's gift to us.  The gift of time, the time to reassess, a new perspective, a new economy (we are in Shakti, but will move into Brahma, then Vishnu), more insight to create a world that is not hateful, unjust, or cruel.  One that is not separated by walls, but one that works together, masking the virus in the air for the good of others. Cooperation is the answer. Peace and harmony, the byproduct. Loving our fellow human beings is the result. Then, we finally all experience liberty and justice for all. Our ancestors gift to us. Their vision. Received and accepted.

After healing humanity, we will be ready to heal the earth, herself.  Her fires this summer are a reminder that she is still waiting on us, she is still providing us with time, she has offered them as motivation to wake up and get ready to do the work.  Reversing climate change, together, in unison as one energetic body of caring beings working toward our own salvation and enlightenment.  Becoming our own savior and the savior of all.  Just as the ants or bees teach us as they work as one in their colony, let us work as one. ONE humanity in communion with Earth.
